Hi! I’m Anela (ah-nel-ah), a hapa haole Hawaiian girl living in Minnesota. I’ve lived abroad and traveled much in my life, speak four languages, been a research fellow at the University of Amsterdam, and have studied and graduated from the University of Minnesota. (Um, none of these degrees were in creative writing. The paperwork on the tuition fees definitely had a post-apocalyptic bent to it though…)
Nowadays, when I’m not kicking snow off my boots on my way to the office, I’m at home with my hubby, two sons and a daughter, reading books and writing about universes where everything goes terribly wrong.

One of my favorite quotes that sums up life rather succinctly: By Jack London
“You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.”
